They pinned all their hopes on that horse's ass georgie, and he double crossed them

they stuffed envelopes faithfully
they called c-span until those extra fingers bled
they pounded the pavement
they yelled mean things on cue, at strangers
they probably poked extra holes into many a democRAT ballot

They had "their people" strategically placed all thoughought government for YEARS, and yet...

gun control is stilll an issue
abortion is still legal
It's still a no-no to make kids drag around the ten commandments in school
Rumsfeld screwed up the war planning
Gonzo spied on them , tapped their phones & read their mail
Cheney emptied the treasury into Halliburton, KBR & Bechtel offshore accounts
Ted Stevens is a crook
Duke Cunningham's a crook
Denny Hastert made a killing in real estate (at their ..and our..expense)
Bob Ney's a crook
Abramoff made gazillions off their guys and then sold them out
One of their staunchest anti-gay senators went trolling for men in airport bathrooms, and then refused to leave the senate
Foley disgraced them
They have a 75 yr old senator with admitted dementia.. and he's staying on another 15 months
Gay people did not go back in the closet
Their precious war is killing a lot of their family members and piling up debt for their grandkids too
George is willing to sell them out in a heartbeat

They now have to choose between:

Fred, the old tv actor whose cancer may return any time..and who needs a script to know what to say

John McCain..the original angry old man/warmonger..a la "Dr Strangelove" (another cancer survivor)

Rudy 911-iani who likes gay people and cheating on wives (in front of his kids and current wife)..also had cancer

Mitt Romney, who has more flipflops than a Walmart in June

Huckleberry Huckabee, who has no chance in hell

Ron Paul, who has many c-spaniac pals, but has little chance to win

Duncan(yo-yo) Hunter who seems mainly concerned about how much food we give people we torture

and

Tom (not-so-terrific) Tancredo who would personally drive every brownskinned person across the border if he could get away with it..

It's not hard to see how dispirited they must be.. They had control of EVERYTHING for such a long time, and no one they trusted, delivered .. They have been "rode hard & put away wet"..

I guess , to paraphrase them, "they are the biggest loosers".

(spelling of loosers is intentional)

2. Somehow, though . . .
I don't think they'd WANT abortion to be illegal, church and state to meld, homosexuality to be punishable by imprisonment or liberals and "their agenda" to "just go away".

All of this stuff means repeat business to them. It's their bread and butter to rile up the hate-filled and fearful salt in white rural areas all across this country.

If all these wedge issues went their way, it would rile up the oppressed (i.e. US) moreso than it would the "base".

And yes, they ARE mountain-sized losers.

3. I wish that they felt shame, but I doubt they do.
I doubt they regret anything. They probably smugly tell themselves that they were doing "God's work" and somehow it will all come out right. Meanwhile, they carefully shield themselves from seeing anything factual about what is happening in our country, Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world.

4. Have to remember too...
... that to the far right fundamentalist crowd mitt represents a cult, not christianity. He has less legs than tancredo does on that side of the isle. Not saying that's anything to celebrate or agree with, but it's an enourmous negative for what otherwise could be their leading man.

5. they manufacture their own reality
all of those issues are the fault of liberal media and commie democrats. No fault lies with their champions. They stick to their guns beyond all reason and never admit they were used.

to be a left wing Progressive Democrat right about now, too. In fact, it just sucks right about now. Sorry, bad week. I've never been so embarrassed for and ashamed of my country.
