Marion Jones admits using steroids before the 2000 Olympics

Report says Jones used steroids for two years before 2000 Games
Associated Press

Marion Jones admitted using steroids before the 2000 Olympics in a recent letter to close family and friends, The Washington Post reported Thursday.

Jones, a triple gold medalist in Sydney, said she took "the clear" for two years, beginning in 1999, and that she got it from former coach Trevor Graham, the newspaper reported. Graham told her it was flaxseed oil.

"The clear" is a performance-enhancing drug linked to BALCO, the lab at the center of a federal steroids investigation. Until now, Jones had steadfastly denied she ever took any kind of performance-enhancing drugs.

Jones also said she will plead guilty Friday in New York to two counts of lying to federal agents about her drug use and an unrelated financial matter, the Post reported.

"I want to apologize for all of this," the newspaper reported, quoting a person who received a copy of Jones' letter and read it to the paper. "I am sorry for disappointing you all in so many ways."

2. Flaxseed oil?
Sure it's a great way to get your essential Omega-3's, but how could it possibly help in Olympic training (And if it does, I'm tripling my daily dosage.)?

4. I'm shocked...SHOCKED, I TELL YOU!!!
Take a real good look at her muscularity, particularly her abdominals...it just ain't done without something, folks. I treat all kinds of people in remarkable physical shape, including some professional athletes, but you can always tell the steroid users...they have that little extra bit of definition.

And a little bit of drug-induced insanity to go along with, for good measure.

6. I don't accept her apology
She lied. She got away with her lie for YEARS. She made lots of money off of her LIES. Atheletes who didn't CHEAT should have won those medals and gotten those endorsements and been celebrated. She is a liar. I hope she does time for crimes AND is forever banned from competition.

7. Hey, Arnold finally admitted not too long ago about using.
I was shocked, just shocked at that. Who knew?

Of course, he said it didn't really make much difference. Well, if it didn't make any difference, than why would you do it?

8. Her Olympic medals will probably be taken away
The International Olympic Committee and the sport of track & field are a lot tougher than Major League Baseball when it comes to these things.
