5 reasons why I'll vote for the dem nominee (apart from Iraq)
1) The environment. After 8 years of malign neglect and active malicious defilement, the thought of another repuke making administrative rules and using the EPA and Interior to degrade the environment and push bad science, is enough in and of itself, to send me scurrying to the polls.

2) Health issues, including stem cell research. Again, bad science.

3) Religion. bushco has pushed faith based crap through NGOs and hired fundamentalists throughout the executive branch.

4) The State Dept has been used as an adjunct to DoD over the last few years, handing out threats like candy, and refusing, largely, to practice diplomacy.

5) The Supreme Court. Simply put, we can't afford a 5th hard right wingnut Justice.

Clearly I think any of the dems would address these vital issues far better than any of the repukes.

1. We Are Behind The Wheel
As it stands now we are headed for the cliff. A vote for anyone who can turn this country in the opposite direction(no matter how small) may at least stop us from that dive off the cliff. We have been going headlong on this reckless ride for far too long. It's time for a new driver--it's time for a new crew. It's time.

3. I agree, the Supreme Court is the most important one
The damage a president does to the Court is long lasting, it's not worth throwing an election away just because you don't like Hillary and then letting another right wing nut job adding a few more right wing nut jobs to the court. If they did that then we could say goodbye to almost all our civil rights, and hello to a police state backed by the Supreme Court.

5. Well, the environment's pretty important too
not that the SC doesn't play into that, but actually turning around some of the awful admin rules instituted by bushco, and restoring the EPA, are huge for me.

8. I can't understand how many overlook the obvious
in their "I just won't vote if so and so is nominated"

WHAT!??

Don't ruin my kids future because you can't learn that life is about compromises.

9. To do otherwise unimaginable to me...
Let's not assemble the circular firing squad again. Work for and elect the best Democratic congress and elect a Dem President and sort it out in 2009. The most important thing right now is to elect a 61+ majority in the Senate and increase our majority in the House.

10. Couldn't agree with you more. In fact, I'm much more
interested in the House and Senate races than in the presidential race.

11. Wayyyyyyyyy too much at risk to waste MY vote.
I wish some would drop the hysterical proclamations and grasp the reality of the situation.

12. I agree about your no.1 issue
The Repuglicans are bad for the environment on a scale that is just scary. And the environment is my biggest issue because I view it as a meta-issue.
