Don Imus' long-rumored return to the radio dial seems to be quickly coming to fruition.

Imus is in talks with Citadel Broadcasting, owner of ABC Radio, which syndicates talkshow hosts Sean Hannity and Tom Joyner.

The impending deal appears to rule out any potential move to satellite radio. Sirius Satellite Radio chief Mel Karmazin indicated over the summer that he, too, would be interested in doing a deal with Imus.

Radio sources have long predicted that Imus would land at Citadel, which acquired ABC Radio Networks from Walt Disney Co. in 2006, but said another talk giant, New York's WOR, also made a play for his services.

he was only syndicated to about 50 stations and his morning drive time ratings on WFAN were pretty far down the list. Sure he was popular with the beltway elite but real people just didn't bother listening. That schtick went out about 20 years ago. Only stern can still pull it off and anus is no stern.

3. I learned a lot from the political guests he had on his show, and my other

option here in the morning was RW propaganda, so I grew fond of him. I'd like to see him return, hopefully after some soul-searching and a new understanding of how words can hurt.

4. Me too. I turned off the TV in the a.m. after he left, Joey the Scar is

a waste of time. I listen to Old Time Radio in the morning, my blood pressure stays level...lol.
