alcoholism. Did she develop delirium tremens? That would account for her behavior and could have caused her death.

4. She was a woman with a temper..... |
|
However, she looked mighty healthy to me. Yes, she was a screamer and yes she was beligerent, but she didn't look half-dead or sick.

22. If she was traveling to a treatment center she was more likely drunk. |
|
than experiencing DTs. Of course her drinking at the airport might explain why she missed her flight too.
We shall see when more facts are determined.

2. She died for causing a "verbal disturbance"? |
|
Cop kept saying how much of a commotion she made and how people looked at her.

16. a "verbal disturbance" after going through the metal detectors... |
|
She waited in line, held out her ID and boarding pass, took off her shoes (and laptop if she had it) put all her belongings in buckets, and walked through a metal detector.
Food for thought.

5. the quality of video from airports really sucks. She made a bit if a hubbub |
|
but i've seen much louder at bus stops. something ain't right here imo, they left her alone they claim for only 10 minutes at a time once she was in the airport lock up and she's now dead. Why in hell don't they have a camera in the lock up room itself?

6. Looks like they should have had a social worker or someone trained in mental illness involved... |
|
clearly she was way beyond "upset" and this certainly did not qualify as an ordinary "arrest".
Thats the problem with a "one size fits all" arrest play book. People die due to some "authority" determining that arrest for a "disturbance" is the only option.
I would like to hear exactly how this person was a threat to to others and why more time was not spent trying to talk her down.
Sad, but expected.

11. We don't fund community mental health services for people known |
|
to have schizophrenia and other problems. That's one reason we have so many homeless. I have no doubt that cops need to be trained better, but it is rather unreasonable to have a psychiatric social worker stationed in an airport in the event that someone has a breakdown.
If she was in such bad shape, why didn't a family member escort her to the clinic or the clinic arrange to escort her? Early stories mentioned that someone was supposed to meet her in Phoenix but failed to show.

7. Was she on the Bushie Enemies No Fly List? |
|
Her Mother-In-Law was "She was the daughter-in-law of longtime New York City public advocate Betsy Gotbaum..."
In other words, to the Bushies a terrorist and moreso if the elder Gotbaum or she herself had ever written or spoken out against the Bushies.
That has been known to get people on the Bushie Enemies No-Fly List, like that Princeton professor or Medea Benjamin.
This is just speculation, and if reporting or investigation ever reveals WHY she was denied boarding, we would have the answer and my speculations would be put to rest by facts.
However, as we all know, things which make Loyal and Royal Bushies look bad seldom get investigated or come to light, especially if they happen to Filthy Little Nobodies like all of us. Even if they do, as with all the felonies revealed by Democratic investigations, nothing will be done to prosecute it.
But it is all speculation.
WHY was this woman denied permission to board in the first place?

10. She should have been escorted to the treatment center. Her husband |
|
should have hired a baby sitter for the kids and flown there with her. She was not to be trusted by herself. I speak from experience as I had a daughter die from alcoholic cirrhosis.

12. She was denied boarding because she missed the damn cut off time for the flight. |
|
Not everything is a Bushco issue. She was obviously mentally ill.
Her family admits she was going into alcohol rehab, but what other drugs was she taking -- was she still taking htem? Or was she in withdrawal. Was she taking them to cover up a mental illness like mania? That is very common. She looks psychotic to me. Screaming -- fighting the whole way. Really struggling. Mentally healthy people don't behave that way no matter how pissed off they are.
About the only thing that was gonna calm her down was some haldol. And I am not sure the cops even had time to get a doctor there. And probably the only way to keep her from strangling herself (assuming she did that) would be a straight jacket. And there is no way to get one of those on an unwilling person who isn't sedated.
So she had a psychotic break and it killed her. Sad. But not about the noFly list.

a New York psychiactric insitution - from the AZ Republic story. She never should have been allowed to fly there by herself.

25. That seemed to escalate quickly. |

One cop, two more, down on the ground. It seemed to go fast to me. I wonder if it continued to escalate after that and that's what really killed her.
