Loaded gun makes it past security at Tucson airport

TUCSON - Authorities evacuated a concourse at Tucson International Airport for about a half-hour Thursday morning after a loaded handgun was found in a men's room.

The weapon was found in a trash can in an area of the west concourse beyond the security checkpoint, according to airport and federal security spokesmen. Authorities have not determined who put the gun in the trash or why.

Paula Winn, an airport spokeswoman, said officials had no immediate explanation for how someone could have got a loaded handgun beyond security screening.

My guess is someone realized they had the gun after they cleared security and thought they better ditch it before it was detected.....but they catch those bottle of perfume, no problem.
