Norwegian journalists 'taken out' to squash dissent in 2003, 2006
This article refers to two episodes of censorship in the past years, in 2003 and 2006:

2003: NRK-journo Petter Nome was removed from the main TV-channel's popular summer program 'SommerÅpent' due to his contacts with a 'peace-list', an anti-war contact list with contacts in many countries. His list was first stopped, then he was funneled out of the channel altogether and went to Irak as a 'communications director' for the organization Flyktningehjelpen (Refugee help).

2006: Freelance journo Erling Borgen's film 'Et lite stykke Norge' (A little piece of Norway) was stopped from screening at major broadcaster NRK in a extraordinary move by a 'internal comittee' deeming it too low in quality. His film contained vital info about Norwegian companies contracting for Guantanamo Bay projects, and also footage from a weapon's fair where Norwegian companies participated.

The article also touches upon the development in the Norwegian press to understand how these two events came to happen.

You should read this, it shows how left-leaning journos are removed or censored, with help from their own colleagues and the official orgs of the press. It happens professionally, undramatically and without violence, but it is still censorship.

1. At PBS or the networks today, they wouldn't let such people near a camera crew to begin with.

You just aren't going to make it past the background check to a job interview, much less onto the air.

They don't have to censor dissident content, because the suits never allow anyone in the door who has any history of Left-wing activism. It's hard to get a job in the "liberal media" even if you're just a Democrat.

It's called self-censorship.

3. That is not very democratic
Arne't the media supposed to be the ultimate defenders of democracy? I used to think so.
Today, they are more like propaganda outlets for the rw, one sided and blind to justice. There's a debate going on in Norway now taking this up, which was my reason for writing that article. The meme of the neocon journo's are that left journalism makes you dumb. Actually, that's the title of the article that started the debate.

Included in this specific media campaign is the article comments, where you can vote for the answer you like the best. This opens up for campaigns, and every article in this paper which contains an important topic for the rw, is freeped by tip off campaigns. This starts with the journo tipping off her network of little helpers, and when the comment in question has reached a certain level of votes, it's impossible to turn around because the left does not know what freeping is. This is how they use the alibi of the (apparent) majority to sving votes, change the way people are thinking and so on. The readers of this paper is young, so they fall for it much easier.
