CNN's Velshi just fixed the employment numbers. Everything
is just fine! Yay!

Apparently the 4000 jobs lost in August has been changed to 9000 jobs created.

And as for September, all is not quite as good as "they" anticipated but don't fret for there were still 110,000 jobs created.

Everthing is going to be just fine...indeed!

1. These are the adjustments people make...
When INGSOC gives them a call.

8. Sadly, there is no need for INGSOC heavies. We do it gladly to ourselves.
That is the miracle of Smiley-Face Fascism, or BushPtuinism, or whatever you want to call this new monster because it doesn't have a name yet.

Nearly the very same censorship results are achieved without any of that old-style totalitarian apparatus.

It is a tribute to the pacifying effect of material wealth and comfort, as well as people's desperate denial of what our nation has become.

There simply cannot be this many Loyal Bushies throughout the media, I think, but by using corporate power and the Imperial Subjects' of Amerika's passivity, cowardice and ignorance, the very same effect is created.

Amazing. I would have thought you would have needed 100,000 blackshirts stationed throughout media organizations with guns drawn to create such an effect.

At it would have...in America 1946. Not now, though. Not anymore...

2. Fuzzy Math if you ask me
Glad to hear that all is well and that so many jobs have been created.

Maybe I got a raise too, I just didn't realize it.

5. I once braced my manager about a raise--many years ago--
and his comment was, "Hey you just got a raise last week!"
When I indicated my disbelief, he replied, "Yeah, the district manager wanted to cut your pay fifty bucks and I talked him out of it!"

So, maybe you did get a raise!

3. What about this mess? Government hiring hiding/stemming the tide?
Talk about a welfare state!

Oct. 5 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. employment probably rebounded in September from the first drop in four years, a decline that sent markets reeling and raised concern the economy was headed toward a recession, economists said before a report today.

Payrolls grew by 100,000 after a 4,000 decrease in August, according to the median estimate of economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. The gain was probably led by a jump in government hiring that masked losses elsewhere. The jobless rate likely rose to a one-year high, according to the survey.

4. Apparently Bloomberg hasn't seen the memo about
August actually gaining 9000 jobs. Velshi said it. It must be true.

7. I had a feeling that the 4,000 job lost figure wouldn't stand very long.
Anytime the numbers don't look favorable this administration, they apply their fuzzy math and, voila, everything is better.
