We really thought we were different. We really thought we were the best. We really believed that our Constitution would protect us from the world’s ancient evils. We really believed we were immune from fascists stealing our country from us.

So my questions are, “Where do we go to get back our rights?” “Where do we go to regain our reputation in the world?” “Why are the first tier Republican candidates running on the same anti-American platforms that brought us to where we are?” “Why are the first tier Dem candidates playing the role of Republican Lite?” “Aside from Kucinich, where the hell is, what used to be called, the Democratic Party?”

About 1/3 of our fellow citizens are people who not only want to see more of the same, but have no grasp of what our country is supposed to be about. It seems there’s no way to enlighten them. But what about the rest of us? Why are we accepting the unadulterated horseshit that our Dem candidates are throwing at us?

Yes, I know that they all have one goal -- to get elected. But at what price? We’ve seen the disaster that occurs when a party goes along with their candidates no matter what he or she is peddling. And if we don’t demand more than we’ve seen to date, we deserve whatever we get whether our next president is Hillary, Obama, Rudy, Fred, or any other huckster who happens to come down the road.

It’s never been a perfect world and probably never will be. But we deserve better. And the world deserves a lot better than a super power that has turned into a nightmare.
