Two Irrational Sides to an Irrational Coin
Edited on Fri Oct-05-07 09:21 PM by Flabbergasted
Many political forum debates share a common denominator. They both delve into the ego we seek to stroke with our sense of righteousness. They seldom acknowledge our common thread and always our methods.

Recently I went to a forum I frequented for months before and after the 2004 election. In the process I subjected myself to the same group of people doing more or less the same thing as they were in 2004. Being critical, but not in a rational debate sense but in a school yard battle of sand tossing. Not a seeking and striving criticism but a protecting and defensive criticism.

I read posts from conservatives and liberals, etc. The theme that remained consistent was a irrational need to defend an idealistic philosophy with no relation to reality at all. And a complete denial of the bipartisan common thread: we all desire what is best for the country.

Today I read a thread here entitled

“I HATE all repukes”

It made the greatest page.

“I HATE all repukes”

I just can't bring myself to even talk to them anymore

If I know they are a repuke I avoid them

if in the course of conversation I find out they are repukes or voted for the idiot, I just politely end the conversation and walk away.

I do this because I just want to scream

WHAT THE FUCK TO YOU THINK??? HAVE YOU NO SHAME? WHERE IS YOUR BRAIN IN THE BATHROOM STALL WITH CRAIG.

Generally that doesn't bode well with others...

I just can't stand it anymore

LIBERALS ARE NOT HATERS.

WE WILL NOT SOLVE A SINGLE PROBLEM BY HATING.

WE WILL NEVER MAKE A DIFFERENCE BY HATING

Hate is a two way track with but a single lane…

1. Hooray for our side!
Now, let's define ourselves as broadly as possible. See below for guidance.
