I'm tired already. Some great calls but some 100% loonies as well.

2. Leila Fadel's comments on Iraq are
interesting. She's talking about Crocker and Betrayus now.

3. McClatchy Has Done The Best Coverage
Leila Fadel...Baghdad Bureau Chief...had a lot of fascinating things to share. Too bad so many Repugnicans have their heads up their ass to listen and prefer to pound their chests and berate this lady than to at least give this lady a fair hearing. They truly define the "Ugly American".

In the run-up to the 2003 invasion, I would pop on a couple of webcams that were around Baghdad...and you saw a city that appeared to be functional and trying to cope with situations outside and beyond its control. One appeared to be in or around the Palestine Hotel (where most the journalists stay) and you saw people walking the streets, cars and trucks going about their business...really not much different than any other major metropolitan city. Today it's the new Beirut...divided and dangerous. Instead of bringing "democracy" to these people, it's brought death and fear and she brings home that story.

Here's a REAL journalist...not one reprinting press releases from the Green Zone or relying on second-hand reports. Kudos to both Leila (glad she's safe) and McClatchy for the outstanding coverage they have and continue to provide...doing the job that the "big boys" are afraid to do.
