What should be a meme
"We don't want health insurance, we want health care."

Seems simple, I know. Profit making insurance is not now and can never be the solution to the health care crisis in this country.

1. actually
I think we want health care funding

we do have a great health care system, and there is no reason to suggest the government should take it over and run it, the scare story the president and his cronies keep repeating

we need government-managed funding, to get the for-profit insurance company decision makers out of the loop. and we need everyone to be provided that funding. If the funding source is taxes, but taxpaying individuals and business are relieved of the cost they now pay for insurance, and the inefficiency of the not-covered using emergency services for healthcare (which is paid for by the covered) the net effect can be close to a wash. Taking the obscene profits out of the equation can improve that balance sheet even more. If the revenue sources to cover it are not identically spread to the way they are now, then there will be "winners" and "losers" but the end result can be care for all at the optimum overall cost to the country, thus improving our ability to compete with other countries for sale of products.

THIS is the big message. Sure, getting rid of all the horrors demonstrated in Sicko, and covering the uncovered is humanitarian. But siphoning that money from GM and Ford to Humana and Kaiser does NOTHING for us in the global marketplace. It is killing us.

3. Here ya go:
From wiki:

A meme, (IPA: /mi:m/) as defined within memetic theory, comprises a theoretical unit of cultural information, the building block of cultural evolution or diffusion that propagates from one mind to another analogously to the way in which a gene propagates from one organism to another as a unit of genetic information and of biological evolution.<1> Multiple memes may propagate as cooperative groups called memeplexes (meme complexes).

Biologist and evolutionary theorist Richard Dawkins coined the term meme in 1976.<2> He gave as examples tunes, catch-phrases, beliefs, clothing fashions, ways of making pots, and the technology of building arches.
