Black shirt ,Blackwater goons are stupid &/or suicidal.
They parade around Iraq in their black T-shirts. Now with the publicity about their methods & their killing innocent Iraqis, those black shirts make a great target for the Iraqis that will surely seek them out to kill as many of them as possible.

8. Styling and profiling....
...I saw the same bullshit among undisciplined, macho, hard-to-control troops while I was in the service. Notice the way they carry their weapons, especially the two John Rambos holding them up as if to shoot ducks, they are completely mugging for the camera in the way all "badasses" do.

6. Not necessarily.
Distinctive gear can be very effective.

No matter what level of anger the locals may harbor, they are fully aware of the fact that the neighborhood will pay dearly if anyone dare shoot at a large guy in a black shirt.

A concerted uniform intimidation tactic is very effective in tamping sown a seething citizenry, especially in a densely populated urban area.

...they are violating every patrol doctrine I, and you, have ever been taught. Look at the right side of the flank, if any contact comes from the left I pretty much guarantee that at least one weapon will sweep the left side. Badass only gets you so far.

13. Effing aye.
The Iraqis blew their chance.

They should have been all over that BarBQue in Fallujah.

Blackwater (and everyone else) was rocking back on their heels.

I would have had guys out trying everything to stage 20 or so of those.

When we went in there hard (remember, they were "Commandos" back then), the "Insurgency" should have spider-webbed.

The insurers of the mercs would have walked overnight.

10. It also makes them prime sniper targets
There was footage released of someone I think was called "Juma", an Iraqi sniper taking out US troops.

below link just sucks a lot of ass

The snipers will learn, and learn to shoot the guys in black soon enough. At that point, it won't be profitable to be a mercenary in Iraq. Revenge sniping will occur.

14. Well...
if that's gonna happen, it will have to be concentrated action. Not just every once in a while.

If the Itaqis had any sense, they would take more action that would put the Insurance Cos in real pain.

Someone is insuring the private forces. I wonder who it is.

See Aviation Pro's and my discussion above.

11. It's symbolic
The Blackshirts (Italian: camicie nere or squadristi) were Fascist paramilitary groups in Italy during the period immediately following World War I and until the end of World War II. The term was later applied to a similar group serving the British Union of Fascists before the War.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blackshirts

Black Shirts, colloquial term originally used to refer to the members of the Fasci di combattimento, units of the Fascist organization founded in Italy in Mar., 1919, by Benito Mussolini. A black shirt was the most distinctive part of their uniform. The Black Shirts were mainly discontented ex-soldiers. Ultranationalist, they posed as champions of law and order and violently attacked Communists, socialists, and other radical and progressive groups. They broke up strikes, destroyed trade union headquarters, and drove socialist and Communist officials from office. In Oct., 1922, their activities culminated in the famous march on Rome, which brought Mussolini to power. Afterward, while the term “Black Shirts” continued to be used to refer to party militants in general, the name Fasci di combattimento designated the local party units.

12. Most likely Blackwater Mercs will be replaced by
Triple Canopy Mercs who seem to be a bit less flamboyant.
