She says we KNOW the disaster that happens when they apply the "shock doctrine." What can we conclude from what she is trying to teach us? They are malicious or they are not. They are motivated by greed. They don't care about the consequences. They are trying to profit from disaster or they are ignorant. But these are supposed "learned" people that are doing these things.

I can only conclude they are malicious, greedy, uncaring, monstrous liars.

Call me a conspiracy theorist but logic tells me it can be nothing else.

16. I've been reading The Shock Doctrine -- it's the most frightening thing I've ever read.

Every word rings true down to the core. It's a "must read" but it's incredibly hard for me to read because the truth of what these SOBs are doing is so ugly. I thought I'd gotten beyond the experience of cognitive dissonance because so many horrors are no longer difficult to believe but this book is giving me a major case of ear ringing, head-splitting, panic-level dissonance. I've learned to confront the dissonance rather than run from it, but I'd forgotten how HARD it is to do. Read the book.
