Is the amount of news coming out of the Whitehouse below normal?

Is the amount of news coming out of the Whitehouse below normal?
Really the only public news event that the Whitehouse intended to comment on was the SCHIP veto. Prior to that Bush went to the U.N., pumped up Betrayus and went to Austraila for that summit. The NYT torture memo story is same type of predictable scandal present since day one and is not suprising.

What is the President doing with all his time? He certainly is not doing any campagin work on behalf of the 2008 GOP candidates nor does he have a interest in the conduct of the Iraq conflict the way LBJ did with Vietnam.


Is this a normal news cycle for a lame duck?

It's a gift to the GOP. Keep him as quiet as possible and maybe Amerikans will forget he is a Repug.
