SNL Weekend Update from last night
Best weekend update since Chevy Chase left the show.

1. the part with Chevy Chase, or the whole thing?
Edited on Sun Oct-07-07 02:12 PM by Gabi Hayes
I find Seth Myers (sp?) completely unfunny.

the audience didn't go for Chevy's Rudy comments, which I found very astute, and would have seemed funnier, except for the audience's impersonation of a mausoleum. reminded me of Colbert's WH Press Assoc speech.

3. I thought the Larry Craig skit was a stitch
cracked me up! Chevy Chase was good, some of the material was funnier than others.

2. I thought the Chevy Chase part
was pretty lame.

I was surprised to see him there - by all accounts, Lorne Michaels banned him from the show years ago for being such a dick to the cast and crew.

5. I've never understood his appeal.
It's just one of those things, I guess.

8. Chevy got 2 laughs, a groan and an exhaled breath from me
Edited on Sun Oct-07-07 03:17 PM by AndreaCG
That's pretty low on the comedy meter. Amy and Seth got well over a dozen laughs and maybe one groan in only a minute or so more time than Chevy. Maybe it's that his material was lamer? I doubt it. Also the audience responded very well to Chevy. They laughed at everything.

11. Chevy Chase's humor is an acquired taste.
Some of his stuff is thrown away and very dry.
