Edwards vs. Romney, 52% to 35%, "intimidating margin."
Edited on Mon Oct-08-07 08:19 PM by usregimechange
Senator John Edwards (D) leads Senator John McCain (R) 47% to 40%. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey also shows that Edwards has a more intimidating margin over former Governor Mitt Romney (R), 52% to 35%.

A month ago, Edwards held a four point edge over McCain and an eleven point lead over Romney. Even before these latest results, Edwards was the strongest Democratic candidate in general election match-ups.

1. Edwards would clean Romney's clock in the South
You put a white Southern Democrat up against a Yankee Mormon Republican, and Edwards would win most or all Southern states.

4. I like Edwards, but the only way a Dem is going to win any of the states George Wallace won
is in a serious Lyndon Johnson/ Goldwater type blowout. Even Goldwater won most of the deep south in that election.

2. How is it that Edwards, Obama, and Biden look so good compared to the GOPers
...and so bad compared to Hillary?

8. ?
I meant "good" and "bad" in terms of their poll numbers, not their worth as candidates. Not sure what Stevens has to do with it.

5. Your question begs another one...
How is it that Hillary looks so good in the polls among Dems but not so good against Republicans?

Another question, even more telling....how is it that Hillary is the most conservative Dem candidate yet she is guaranteed to be painted as a far-left liberal by the media and the Reps in the general election?

7. Romney is done for.
Everyone figured out he is a phoney, and all the Mormon money in the world is not gonna save him.

11. What is different about Edwards v. Repubs as opposed to other Dems v. Repubs....
Edwards is reaching the Independents/Undecideds and Unaffiliated Voters in a different way than any other candidate --Edwards is reaching them with a 'populist' message that appeals to them on Progressive issues. This group does not embrace the corporate agenda and their 'special interests.' In all likelihood this explains why Edwards would be the better choice as a Democratic Nominee when it comes to winning in the General Election.

13. Edwards takes Romney's biggest strength off the board. He's just as good looking.
Edwards just happens to have the added benefit of not being a total intellectual lightweight.
