Finally saw the Manchurian Candidate last night.

Finally saw the Manchurian Candidate last night.
The "new" one with Denzel Washington, (2004). All I can say is wow, and wow. If that film wasn't foretelling some of the exact things we are seeing now in the twisted reality of this current administration. Strange how much Meryl Streep reminds me of Hillary in the film. Make one wonder what Halliburton is really capable of...

4. Great film.
Both the original and the remake were great in their own right. But I must say the original is a bit better.

6. It goes into more detail.
You really get to see what a tortured soul Raymond Shaw is. And Angela Landsbury as his mother makes Meryl Streep look like a girl scout! One of her best performances, I think.

9. Frank Sinatra, who produced the original film, wanted Lucille Ball as the mother
but then saw Lansbury in another film and was convinced to go with her.

7. I agree with you...it is a superb update/remake...
...I bought the DVD when it came out and we watched it when my parents were last out here and they LOVED it...

Very, very spooky...
