Where are they, goddamnit? |
|
Where are the "liberal lions" on this new FISA legislation? Where's my Senator, Leahy, who's taken the lead in opposition to Warrentless wiretapping? Where's Kennedy and Kerry and Sanders and Boxer, etc.?
Am I missing their statements in opposition?
I know the 72 members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus are opposed, but Senators have a greater megaphone.

4. This bullshit is why a lot of us were PISSED that they passed this shit and then took vacation. |
|
Their handling of the FISA bill is a metaphor for how they handle EVERYTHING.
1. Make some statements condemning whatever bad idea Bush's right wing puts out. 2. Capitulate. 3. Take a lobbyist funded paid vacation. 4. Come back to Washington, and issues a sternly worded letter. 5. Once again capitulate, and allow whatever unconstitutional crap was on the table, to become permanent law.

5. Yeah. Leahy kinda puzzles me as well. |

Heres a guy that will be re-elected no matter what. The entire state loves him to death, meanwhile he seems to have choked. Had me going there for awhile but seems strangely silent lately.
Remember his last campaign? ran tv commercials with happy little kids running around. Talked about the future, never even mentioned his opponent. Love those ads, everyone smiling and happy, green trees and flowers everywhere. What is he worried about? Drop the hammer already!

7. draining the cesspool, first 100 hours, keeping powder dry... |
|
so the powder is dry, the 100 hours have long since passed and the cesspool is overflowing.
I guess they prefer to keep their powder dry rather than use it.
I guess all they had energy for was only 100 hours, since then they've had to nap a lot
Now the cesspool, well, it's deeper, murkier, thicker, smellier, but certainly not drained.
and why are we still believing that they will do something?
