And they've already gone without it for a time. Nearly a month after a toxic algae bloom in Siltcoos Lake, biologists say those algae levels are holding steady. Some had hoped that early fall rains and cooler, cloudy weather would help. They still might, but not yet. Lane County's environmental health specialist says cell counts for the algae are above the theshold level for safety. Until the drinking water advisory is lifted, Dunes City Hall will be offering potable water for residents on their public system.)
