CRANDON, Wis. - An off-duty sheriff's deputy who killed six people appears to have shot himself three times, the last one hitting him in the right side of the head, the state attorney general said Tuesday.

Tyler Peterson, 20, was shot four times, Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said. He was shot once in the left biceps from a distance and then three times in the head from a gun at close range.

Two shots went in under Peterson's chin, while the third fatal shot entered through the right side of head, he said.

The six young people who died were either students or graduates of Crandon High School, where Peterson also had graduated. They were at the house to share pizza and watch movies during the school's homecoming weekend.

but I sincerely think that our culture of war and the overreaching of some law enforcement in general, perpetuates this type of action in someone that obviously had a penchant to be an authority figure. The glamorization of torture, violence, war, etc on an impressionable young person is something that society should bear a small degree of accountability. We have quit teaching our children problem solving and have replaced that with teaching them instant gratification. The young man bears the blame, no doubt. But we bear the burden.

just guessing but steroid use is epidemic among young police officers.

5. A deputy going to jail

He will be so tortured. He's going to have to sit in isolation or he won't make it. Most cops rather kill themselves then go to jail.

Steroid or drug use or mental illness all seem likely.
