I am calling out Joe For Clark.

"Elements of 2,3 and 82 are positioning to block potential problems on the northern border to block about 14 Turkish division bent on taking PKK units to the south. And buddy- they are real real serious. Maybe we are 72 hours away from a direct confrontation with a NATO ally. What the fuck are we gonna do??"

- Joe For Clark, July 12 2007

"I am glad Turkey just launched a few bombs and did NOT follow thru. That was great for us - and it could have gone the other way. And we better use the opportunity it affords."

- Joe For Clark, July 24 2007

Etc.

Turkey Bombs Suspected Kurdish Rebels
By Selcan Hacaoglu
The Associated Press

(snip)

Turkey and the United States are NATO allies, but ties have also been tense over a U.S. congressional bill that would label the mass killings of Armenians by Turks around the time of World War I as genocide. President Bush strongly urged Congress to reject the bill, saying it would do "great harm" to U.S.-Turkish relations.

Turkish troops blocked rebel escape routes into Iraq while F-16 and F-14 warplanes and Cobra helicopters dropped bombs on possible hideouts, Dogan news agency reported. The military had dispatched tanks to the region to support the operation against the rebel Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, in response to more than a week of deadly attacks in southeastern Turkey.

Turkish authorities also detained 20 suspected Kurdish rebels at a border crossing with Iraq, the office for the governor of Sirnak said in a statement.

Dogan said the military had installed night vision cameras at strategic points to prevent any rebels fleeing at night. The agency said there was fog Wednesday morning in the Gabar and Cudi regions of Sirnak province, near the Iraq border, forcing warplanes to fly low.

===

Joe For Clark was talking about something big happening in northern Iraq months ago, and warned it would be serious.

He was absolutely right.

14. This turn of events is nothing to cheer about, but Joe was correct
I remember him getting mocked and bashed here, and he was just trying to warn us the best he knew how. His pain and helplessness was palpable in his posts.

I'm not glad he was right, but I am also not surprised.

15. ahhh Joe was so very worried and rightly so..he was carrying a heavy burden..
and he was so right ..these are frightening times..it seemed very frustrating for Joe to know so much and unable to disclose it all.

I have the utmost respect of Joe..

I wish him peace ,..peace of mind and heart.

Thanks Will for pointing this out..

Joe is a very special man!!

He reminds me of an uncle of mine who says really outlandish things that get the family up in arms, but he's usually right about 90% of the time. I'm praying for Joe and his family.

He tries so hard to wake us up and warn of the dangers. It must be overwhelming. I hope that his son is safe.

23. He also was talking about something big happening with Iran.
Basically, the M.O. is to say something big is going to happen somewhere, he knows because of some secret reason, but there's never any specifics. Then when something somewhere does happen, why it's all Joe's secret inside information.

Ask him about his uncle, the canonized Catholic saint.

31. The PKK thing is important because...

it is related to MEK, an acknowledged terrorist organization in Iran which we are allegedly supporting in order to cause turmoil. "Creative destruction" at work and our soldiers are caught in the middle.

35. I really do not want to say what I really think now -
It scares me - and I think sometimes if you close your eyes it goes away.

It better.

My kid - know what he is afraid of? He is afraid what is going to happen to those little kids over there - he likes those kids -

We forget - our soldiers- they are just kids - they relate to other kids.

His war I think is over - he did his 30 whatever months in that shit hole.

He was an nco over there. It is funny to me - cause I always thought, you ever really want to get a pulse on our army - talk to the ncos. They know - it is their job.

They know what crap this whole affair is - they f-ing know. There take is not about the geopolitical - they know they want to see their friends out of there. So do I.

Look, those people earned the right to get out of there - that doesn't mean we have to stay either. Get them all out - it is one mistake we made at the end of Viet Nam we do not have to repeat ever again.

Get them out - all of them. If some people there stood up to protect US soldiers - then they earned the right to be US citizens - get them all out.

Joe

36. Here is a 'possible' scenario that should concern every American
The British have pulled out of cities in the South, exposing our supply lines which support our troops in Baghdad and surrounding area. Turkey is a strategic element if we needed to get our troops and supplies in and out if we attack Iran.

This has the potential to 'strand' our troops in the midst of a Turkish incursion into Northern Iraq.

This could get out of control in a hurry --especially if Turkey decides to 'ignore' its NATO ally(the US) and slaughter the Kurds in Iraq.
