If Gore wins Nobel, get ready for the dumbest RW meme ever
Sometimes you can just feel the right wing stupidity in the air. Surely, they are already planning how to counter the tremendous publicity effect that Gore's winning the Nobel Peace Prize would have, and especially if Gore decides to enter the presidential race.

The rightwingers are predictable. It's easy to imagine what they are going to say. I suspect it will be two perfected, crystalline stupidities:

1. Winning the "Peace Prize" disqualifies him from being a "war president."

2. The Nobel Peace Prize is an endorsement from "old Europe," including the French.

Any other stupidities you expect if Al wins tomorrow?

15. You have it backwards
Personally I dont see how he can win, if you look at the people that were awarded the Peace Prize it was only after long effort. There are some like TR, that got his for a short term thing (PEACE TREATY resolution, ie) As much as I would like to see him win, the chances are 1 in 100. Bono and Bob Geldof have better chances. I think the MSM has been focusin on it TOO much (as if they dont know the same thing I know about the history of Peace Prize awardees). The right wing loves this because when he "looses" (how they will frame it) the SlUDGE REPORT will have something like "sorry AL" or something similar. Expectations are just amok on this. He has had a great two years, but this would be the thinnest "body of work" Peace Prize EVER.

2. They already consider the Nobel Committee to be entirely too liberal
I would just expect them to rail on and on about global warming and how poltical it is and what a lie it is.

4. Well, when you consider who the prize is named for,
(and who had used the money to set it up) ... the guy committed suicide because what he created was being used to kill people in war ...

14. He didn't commit suicide. He died of a stroke.
Seeing an erroneously-published obituary of himself years before he actually died is what is generally believed to have led to him setting up the money to grant the Nobel prizes.

7. And just how did the Bush Regime acknowledge Carter's Nobel Prize?
A state dinner? A reception? A photo-op where everyone smiles & clasps hands? A pleasant word or two?

5. But wasn't Rush claiming that he was a Nobel nominee awhile back?
I seriously doubt that he was any sort of qualified nominee, but even though I catch maybe 10 mins of dittoland a month this was something he used as a bragging point.

I also think there was a push by rethugs for * to get a Nobel prize in....wait for it....2003 if you can imagine.

Of course short on consistency, high on hypocrisy is a right wing trademark, so your prediction will likely be accurate.

I'm serious. What is the point of imagining what someone is going to say?

11. To get ready to counter it
We are not writing anything for them. I doubt they read DU for ideas.

We do have to realize we are in for an onslaught of anti-Gore memes if he wins.

24. All you are doing is showing that you understand why they would say such things.
And thereby you give credence to the notions. You would do better to not "know" what they are going to say, to profess utter mystification as to why anyone would think such things.

8. They are already working on "it."
http://www.crcpublicrelations.com/

Good old Creative Response Concepts must have the slime "in the can"
ready to roll out to Rush, Bill O, Hannity, newspapers, Drudge, and so on.

My guess is that it will be to change the subject and attack Gore on something
or other.

I'm sure it'd be a totally different response if *'s efforts to get a Nobel Peace Prize the last few years had been met with success and not hysterical, disbelieving snorts of laughter from "Old Europe".

19. 1. He'll have gotten his prize
from the inventor of dynamite. Which will make him the Bigfoot of Peace Through Strength. Or Peace Through Blowing Shit Up, in any case.

2. "Old" Europe's currency has them primed to buy up everything that isn't nailed down over here. Maybe Al's good standing with them will keep your future French bosses from downsizing your stupid freeper asses.

Okay, I give up. Out-stupiding winger stupidity just can't be done.
