as to why he hasn't done so this time around, especially because of the number of people who are begging him to run. It's not an ideal time to take the presidency, true, but...

Also, he hasn't endorsed anyone. I might write that off because of what the other candidates did to Dean after Gore endorsed Dean (that was a beautiful day!), yet the lack of an endorsement AND the lack of an announcement to the contrary really have me wondering.

Then you'll understand. Numbers mean nothing in the scheme of things if those adding to them can't back them up with actions on their own. Just begging someone else to save you isn't going to do what he wrote about it that book that needs to be done. And there is no psychological mystery about that, it is reality.

Many people are also pledging to do what they can. You assume that this is all there is to the "numbers".

Urge people to action, but you essentially don't want action as regards a presidential run.

I commend you on your efforts to urge people to take action as regards global warming and the environment. But sometimes you assume--in a negative way--that people who want Gore to run are passive and disregard the changes they can make, ie "the pledge" from the Live Earth global event that recently took place.

It might be more effective to ask people what they've done, to ask if there isn't more to think about in terms of their role in global climate change, rather than assume things from a stance of attack.
