Nobel Peace Prize Contenders
A secretive Norwegian committee will announce the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo, Friday, while the rest of the world speculates who is under consideration. The committee does not release the names of candidates, just the number (181 this year) although some candidates' names are made public by those making the nominations.
Two Norwegian politicians nominated Al Gore, the former U.S. vice president and senator, for his climate change efforts. Many predict that climate change could be the hot issue for this year's prize making Gore, who made a serious impact with the documentary "An Inconvenient Truth," based on his years studying global warming, a front-runner.
