Accuracy in Media is pushing the "Letelier papers".

He was murdered by the Pinochet regime, and today's "freedom loving" Republicans might have known that it would have happened. Some of those people who knew included a couple of the patriarchs of today's conservative movement, the Buckley dynasty.

Anyway, his car explodes, yet his briefcase is magically unscathed, and then a CIA agent says he got it from a detective, who gave it to... Bob Novak.

The briefcase happened to be full of incriminating documents and soviet pay-offs. Strangely though, Letelier's work included successfully urging nations to cut support for the Pinochet regime, and no documents related to that were in there. Very suspicious if you ask me.

Fortunately, the "Letelier papers" seems to be a fringe RW theory. But, a Democracy activist was MURDERED by a terrorist regime, maybe it's time for groups like Accuracy in Media to admit that.
