When it walks like and talks like it, you call it what it is.

Fascism.

6. You might LOOOOOOVE your "leaders"
That's fine.

The love of the Leader figure, the love of leadership, that's fascism.

It's fascism. So love away, like Speaker Pelosi, the Leader. Love your Leader. She loves leading.

knee-jerk reactionary either.

9. You don't even know what reactionary means
That's how far we've come. Critique of Fuhrerprinzip is now "reactionary." Laughable, ignorant nonsense.

12. Calling someone a fascist is critique?
No that's name-calling

14. No, it's definition
People who go around justifying themselves by saying "We're the leaders" are fascist douchebags, and it's Fuhrerprinzip, and that's that. You don't like the name? Stop acting like it. It's pretty simple, really.

22. Leaders who call themselves leaders are not.
Leaders are chosen by those who follow. When 70% say 'impeach' and Pelosi says no, she is not a leader, she's an obstructionist.

23. Where is the poll that says 70% wants impeachment?
Exaggerate much?

Is this Pelosi against the rest of the Congress who wants impeachment?

Anyway, Kucinich can take impeachment to the floor? Why doesn't he? It would be a good way to get everyone on record.

Demand Kucinich do this!

10. Ms Pelosi, you are an elected representitive
Your job is to represent the wishes of the people that placed you in office. If you wish to present the people that elected you with a concept at variance with their wishes you should present it before them and find out what their take on it is. If they persist in their position it is your job to act on it or step aside if your conscience cannot allow you to do so.

19. Sorry, we're the leaders, as you say Nancy is the Representative. Quite a few Dems and most Repukes
do not realize the game is changing rapidly. They are going to have to be more accountable to the people. There are quite a few forces pushing for the decentralization of power, authority, information gathering and disseminating, etc. They are living in a past that is dying where a few actors on top could control everything. Corporations are fighting the distributive tendencies of new technologies by trying to grab all our water, seedstocks, energy generation, etc. in a desperate attempt to maintain top down control. In the meanwhile the Web, distributed energy producers like wind and solar, organic foods and more are growing exponentially.

11. Careful
we just had a thread locked for calling Pelosi on this.

This is the first time I have ever disagreed with the mods, but when a candidate spits in our face, we should be allowed to criticize them for it.

13. So they can lock it
I don't give a fuck.

"We are leaders." That's what we support?

So what now? The minor functionaries punish any who do not support the Leaders? They accuse people of not being real Party members? Jesus, what a mess we're in. And I'M the "reactionary!" Fucking ignorant Party shit.

16. Please let's not do this.
You know how I feel about this. I've said it ad nauseum.

But let's not wreck our refuge or punish the very people that make it possible for us to talk to each other.

Please?

18. Nance... That critter that flashed by beneath you while you were jumping?
....DEFINITELY a shark, kiddo.

Go home. Take a nice long bath. Get a couple nights' sleep. Maybe take some nice long walks up in the hills with a dog.

Don't come back until you've thought of a really convincing excuse and a really graceful and sincere apology for an utterance of such monumental arrogance and stupidity. Remember, THEY are the Party of arrogance and stupidity. We may be the Party of schizophrenia and timidity, but we try to keep our vices well distinguished from theirs, hon.

disappointedly,
Bright

20. Not quite fascism (though that is the form it is taking in the US) Authoritarianism
Yes, words matter...

But the cult of the leader is a hallmark of authoritarian societies.

21. Authoriatism, even if American Authoritarian society has the hallmarks
of Corporatism (fasicsm as defined by Mussolini), the cult of personality is common to authoritarian societies, regardless of ideology

Just a small quible here, but essentially yes, I agree with you

It is getting scary as the doors to liberty shut down huh?
