that the overriding goal is to impact the marketplace of ideas by making her point of view seem popular and to give her more credibility as a "best selling author"; on the nuts and bolts side, they get a cheaper bulk rate, then either donate them to libraries or nursing homes or whatever for a tax write off or use them as giveaways in promotions. Whatever the reason, a lot of her sales are in bulk.
