Al could run AND continue the work he got the highest praise for! |

He too realises that being President of the sole remaining superpower gives you extraordinary influence, I've read as much.
For sure, it would mean he could have a HUGE impact on the emissions by the largets polluter in the world : the US, and thereby set a standard for the rest of the world. After all, it is the US that boycotted Kyoto. It could be the US that leads the way out.
So all I am saying (is give The Peacer a chance) is that the dichotomy between environmental work and the presidency (or a role in an administration for that matter) is a false one.

Although I have my doubts that the nomination would be a slam dunk, I think he could accomplish more as president, especially since we're going to pick up seats in the Congress. This could be his very best chance to effect change.

6. And if enabled by a Democratic Congress with spine, he could have... |
|
...a major impact on the future of the planet.
We exhausted Americans could begin to remember who we are (or who we have always thought we were), and could work on improving that image, and shame could turn to industry (as in industriousness), once gain.
*******
As an aside, when I was 14 I visited Belgium, and I remember a statue of a little lost prince in a "plaza" (as we call it in New Mexico) in Brussels. The story was that the king was so distraught that he said that whatever his son was doing when found, a statue would be erected to honor his recovery. It happened that he was peeing when he was found! Ergo, a fountain of a little lost boy graces that public place. My brother still has a souvenir of that statue, with a rubber hose and a bulb attached, so the little statue can do its thing.
We want our lost America back, in whatever state we find her, so we can begin to rejoice and hope again!
How's life in Belgium?
