Could someone please help with a letter to my state senator...
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 09:31 AM by Faye
I am just wondering what is the best way to start it, I mean the greeting. I called my state senator's office (Diane Allen) yesterday about some problems I am having with local government for relocation assistance (the building of the apt. I was in got condemned by the township and we all had to be out in 24 hours). Anyway, the lady who answered wanted me to write a letter stating the problems and send it along with all the paperwork I have. I just don't know how to start the letter :( I'm sure it won't necessarily be my state senator who handles it, but probably someone in her office...I hope someone can help or even knows what I'm talking about.

1. I would address it to your senator anyway, despite who might be
handling it.

3. Is she called Senator Allen?
If you're sending a formal letter, with your address in the right hand corner and hers below it on the left hand margin, I would use 'Dear Senator Allen,' or whatever she's called.
