Gores' speech last evening in San Francisco... |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 09:51 AM by xiamiam
Thuderous applause when he said we must take back our democracy...Every one of 400 or 500 or so or us there had one thing on our mind...todays award and Gore running...At one point, the crowd started chanting Run Al Run...he did not say No...he didnt say Yes either...but I was happy that he could look into that crowd and see such a fine group of supporters...there was an older guy with a GORE/OBAMA shirt..he got a lot of attention..it was really a nicely done shirt and he said he had it made.. This was a fundraiser for Barbara Boxer...I love Barbara and am so proud that she is my senator..I tried to get a few letters from posters here to him...who knows if they ever will but I tried...I got a few photos which I'll post after I find my photobucket password...
The camera crews were set up across the street as well as the draft Gore petitions...he knows how much support is out here...waiting for him

3. Thanks for the report! |

Speaking of Gore/Obama, I recently saw a car with a bumper sticker with this very enticing ticket...and this was in the very red suburbs of Dallas.

6. Could you estimate the proportion of the crowd chanting "Run Al, Run" - |
|
Media reports leave it unclear --- was the thunderous applause for:
His statements about climate change His statements about taking back our democracy The chant of "Run Al, Run"
...or all of the above?

10. OT, but are they a couple? |
|
I'm a big fan of both, and I thought I heard they were, if so, that's great. Two old friends finding love and companionship with each other after all these years.

13. No, the Pachababies never went in the ladies room (too excited) to leave the area |
|
We were sitting Stage Left in the reserved seating where Jackson Browne, Bonnie Raitt and Boxer etc. all sat when they weren't onstage. It's was wonderful...afterwards, the girls got to see Al Gore and he signed my daughters poster.
I was wearing a beige Burberry quilted jacket and am blonde...so are the Pachababies - no Bindi! :hi:
