2. Their treatment of this story is about denying global warming.
They can't just report that Gore won the award for his work on this issue, because that would be too close to admitting that global climate change is real. So they do what they always do; 'opinions differ'.

17. Follow the money.
All those smokestacks belching black soot into the air would cost money to replace. Real carbon emissions standards on cars would cost the manufacturers money to develop and build. Factories would have to be retooled. If we admit global warming is real, and decide to really do something about it, it would cost corporations real money. And that, of course, is just not acceptable.

37. Check out the "Global Warming" section of that site.
"Global warming: A natural cycle or human result?"

Same message. "Experts disagree".

Polluters have lost a lot of ground on this issue, since the climate change has become apparent in recent years. They started out saying it was a loony idea. Nowadays their chosen argument seems to be, 'yeah, it's happening, but it's not because of people'.

5. The American media despises Al Gore, because he exposes them
as lightweight cretins whose prejudices severely damaged the country. He exposes them as dangerous imbeciles, and they know it. They will never give Al Gore a fair chance, because they hate him like poison. It's that simple. The con artist student hates the actual good student. It's always the way. The American media are con artist intellectuals. When they encounter real intellectuals, they react in shame and fury, as they do to Al gore.

30. Well put. That is a BIG part of it.
The "village" aspect, the shaming, the gossip...the element of repressed self-loathing.

the corporate sponsors and BusinessAsUsual elements do NOT want to mess up their con, but ride it into the ground.
All this is true.

So it goes.

7. And there is a poll on MSNBC that asks
if he deserved the award and if he should run for the presidency and over 150,000 people have voted overwhelmingly that he did deserve it and he should run!!!!!!!!!!!!! CNN sucks. Tom Hartmann ran a speech Gore did back in 2005 today and it was just awesome. He talked about wiretapping, the Constitution, etc. I was in tears trying to drive my car and listen to it. We need a savior. I wish it were Gore.

8. This morning when I logged on to cnn.com, there was just a teeny link
to the story of Gore's winning. On msnbc.com there it was headlined with a full color photo of Gore.

I've been hanging on to CNN because I remember the good old days when they began, but I think I'll give them a pass from now on.

Ha! They can't stand to see Al Gore win yet again!

like he did in 2000!

These morans just know how to spin and lie and cheat and steal cause, they be tards!

It's like throwing water on a witch! "awww! i'm melting! I'm melting!"

--The reality that the world respects and agrees with Gore and thinks Bush and his gang of looters should be in Nurenburg on trial is a hard truth, so like in 2000, when Gore won--they will try to spin an alternate reality so their heads don't explode.

Losers! haha.

One of them is run by a fundy nutball and the other is just a gigantic corporate conglomerate.

Either way, they both taste like crap.

Yet, they're the most popular beers in America.

Comment by Monica Friedlander, Chair and founder, Draft Gore
google news commentDraft Gore Statement on Al Gore Winning the Nobel Peace Prize - 1 hour ago

We are gratified by the awarding of this
prestigious award to Al Gore. It confirms our judgment of the man, his
principles, vision, experience, efforts -- as well as promise. He is in
a unique position not only to lead our country, but to make America
once again an agent for peace in the world.

This award will only add to the tremendous tidal wave of
support for Al Gore and the growing demands that he become a candidate
for President in 2008. He is in a unique position to make a difference
in the world on the one issue he believes to be the most important of
our times. We believe that under these circumstances he has no choice
but to take the one step left to have the greatest impact in changing
policy on global warming -- run for President.

Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 03:04 PM by Jackpine Radical
they didn't even report the numbers, but most of the individual comments they printed were highly negative (not to mention pretty illiterate and ill-informed), so I wonder if they might not have gotten results they didn't like, which they then obfuscated by over-sampling the negatives in the comments they chose to print.

Their bias is also obvious in the picture of Gore they selected to run.

Edited on Fri Oct-12-07 03:09 PM by Neo
He has triumphed in getting this important message of truth out there despite a constant mean-spirited smear campaign by American conservative polluters to protect their gluttonous lifestyles. Even when the truth is universally recognized they still grumble and create phony science because they can't handle the fact that they are the bad guys and the real evildoers of the world.
