Little Boots must have been tantrumming like crazy today
given the vitriol in the media. You know darned well the WH was pressuring media groups to find something nice to say about the little creep and to puff him up. Wonder what he'll do tomorrow to try to look like the great leader he fancies himself to be.

4. A liberal Democrat who beat georgie-porgie in 2000 won the Nobel Peace
Prize. The only thing stupid ever won was found in his Cracker Jack Box.

5. So far, I've mainly seen CNN, and bill schneider (PNAC'er and senior fellow
at the American Enterprise Institute, masquerading as an "objective" "senior political analyst" for CNN, did a rather interesting report about it. Twice he referenced the 2000 presidential outcome as being disputed - specifically by "many Democrats" and also a more vague term like "many" or "many people." Interesting that he included that, not once but twice. It has indeed become one of those realities that are sufficiently widely known and accepted that at least some in the media now acknowledge it in their reporting.

To me, of course, that's probably THE bedrock fundamental on which this entire bush disgrace was built: how he cheated his way into the Oval Office, gaming the system for his own benefit yet again.

11. That's a different Bill Schneider.
I used to think CNN's Bill Schneider is also PNAC's Bill Schneider. Not so.

:hi:

I have fumed about that for a long time - Why doesn't CNN ever come clean - where's the full disclosure about him?

Study his facial expressions as he delivers his reports. It's rather tell-tale - betrays his inner bias all the time. I suspect he is, at his heart, a neoCON of some sort. I remember watching him when libby-gate was starting and one day when there was an adverse finding against libby, you would have thought bill schneider had just lost his whole family to a freak bus accident. He looked as somber as an undertaker. Same, at least up til recently, when he'd describe Dems doing better in the polls than the GOP, or as we approached last November when it was looking grim for the bad guys. He looked grim on camera, too. And when he'd talk about anything adverse to Hillary or Howard Dean or any Dem candidate, he bubbled up with eyes twinkling and an impish grin on his face.

If he isn't PNAC, his expressions give him away as being at some level a sympathizer. His CNN profile, however, does list him as a senior fellow of the American Enterprise Institute. That is where the PNAC came from, in any event.

6. Little Boots....that's funny! I haven't heard the little shit called that before
...but it is very fitting. Personally, I don't think he cares if the planet blows up or Al Gore wins the Nobel Peace Prize. I think he's just tired of playing president and ready to go home and cut down more trees...or fall off bikes, or whatever it is he likes to do in his free time. I think that is all he is capable of thinking about at this juncture.

12. "Little Boots" = Caligula
Edited on Sun Oct-14-07 02:08 PM by Poiuyt
Though Caligula was popular with the Roman public throughout his reign, the scarce surviving sources focus upon anecdotes of his alleged cruelty, extravagance and sexual perversity, presenting him as an insane tyrant.

As a boy of just two or three, Gaius accompanied his father, Germanicus, on military campaigns in the north of Germania and became the mascot of his father's army.<6> The soldiers were amused that Gaius was dressed in a miniature soldier's uniform, including boots and armor.<6> He was soon given his nickname Caligula, meaning "Little (Soldier's) boots" in Latin, after the small boots he wore as part of his uniform.<7> Gaius, though, reportedly grew to dislike this nickname.<8>

13. Thanks for the Latin/history lesson. Good stuff
though I still like referring to Guiliani as Caligula because that's how he's going to appear to the fundamentalists in his party if he gets the presidential nomination.
