to run and lose and see his global warming work eaten up and twisted in the process. He can lay back and get drafted with no necessity to campaign again in the dubious primary world. They want him to run so they can dispose of him in the ensuing chaos. The Nobel prize always antagonizes the foes of the work of the individual. Stepping into their thuggish arena- the only one on the planet where idiots mock, disbelieve, drown out the simplest rational evidence concerning their own survival- gives them an artificial chance to "defeat" the whole cause.
If drafted later, then the stakes are sufficiently high and clear to make this battle eminently worthwhile- on terms where something can actually be heard by all the American people and won. I think he could make some demands of the actual candidates on the issue now. And the GOP. the importance is the Nobel prize not the political prize. In GOP land each is played off to diminish the other and keep people from thinking about either without their negatives controlling the play.
The same kind of idiots who fall for GOP election or primary reforms and are egged on now by GOP pundits(currently doing double duty as Hillary fans) would do better to support the Nobel momentum and Gore's current decisions and let him do his current work.
