was the iraqi army supposed to be the cannon fodder for an attack on iran...? |
|
when the pnac neocon nutjobs took us into iraq- did they honestly believe that we would be greeted as liberators? did they totally dismiss the possibility of any type of insurrection or sectarian violence?
if they thought that it would be a cakewalk into baghdad- would their plan have been to rebuild an iraqi army as quickly as possible- foment iraqi anger against iran, and then use THAT army to make their initial assault on iran...?
just spitballin' here...does anyone know of anything that would either support or discount that theory?

1. I don't know about that, because not even BushCo would be stupid enough |
|
to believe that they could inspire a majority-Shia Iraqi army to fight the Shia in Iran, their neighbors and fellow tribesmen. However, I do believe that Cheney, in particular, knew that Iraq would be a civil-war/insurgency clusterfuck, and fomented chaos deliberately to keep the new Iraqi government weak and keep our presence there "necessary" long enough to start Iran plans, as well as to keep control of the oil deal.

2. I think their immediate DISBANDING of the Iraqi Army would argue against that theory. |
|
They wanted Iraq in ruins & chaos; they weren't thinking ahead to Iran yet.
