So why did Congress need to bring the resolution on the Armenian genocide up NOW? |
|
Why wasn't it brought up in 10 years ago, or even earlier?
One blunder after another, and this one could definitely make it even more dangerous for our troops there.
The Congress continues to fund the war with one hand, and pass non-binding resolutions on the other which only make the situation over there more precarious

aside from the fact that 10 years ago, the congress was repub, this wasn't the onLy time something recognizing the genocide was brought up. it's just the first time it's gotten through.

2. Yeah, but why now? It's really not the best time, unless there is |
|
some action/reaction it was meant to bring about. So, why now?

6. Interesting point, but what positive action/reaction could it provide now? |

5. Allright, then why not 20 years ago, or when the Democrats had Congress |
|
Frankly, this could not be the worst time to put forth such a resolution. Not that it isn't valid, but it DOES MAKE THE occupation of our soldiers even MORE precarious
In all honestly, the leadership is very poor at allowing this to go threw now. It has nothing to do with the merits, and only hurts our soldiers there
Incidently, this is not exclusively a Democratic vote, republicans also voted for it.
It makes no sense to do it now

This the first time it got enough votes to pass.

4. The Timing Was Incredibly Stupid. |
|
It just gives BushcCo another "Blame the Democratic Congress" card for anything that goes wrong in Turkish-American relations (like Turkey invading Iraq and killing Kurds...)
But we couldn't be bothered to impeach BushCo! Wouldn't be politic!

8. Republicans voted for it also. Incidently, the Kruds were also complicent in that genocide also |
|
This can only come to no good
I agree with all your points.
It is like Jon Stewart asking, everything is looking extremely good for the Democrats in 2008, I wonder what they will do to blow it?
