CAN'T WE just put GORE on the BALLOT?!
Could a group of people in different states get petitions filled to put Gore on the ballot despite a formal run?
If so why aren't we doing it?!

3. He has to WANT to run to be successful
If his heart isn't in it, I would rather he do what he wants to do. I really hope that he wants this, but it has to be his final decision.

7. It reminds me of the "Once we're married I'll change him" school of dysfunctional
thinking.

10. No No No, It Is More Like Offering Someone The Job
instead of making them interview for it. He would still have the right to turn it down but I am betting he would accept it.

12. You get it.
Unfortunately, most folks are still thinking in terms of 'politics as usual' games - which Gore has made clear he will not play.

Hence, the honorable nature and purpose of a 'draft' movement...

6. Then he's not really in it.
I'm not going to support someone who isn't that committed.

9. I hear you.
And the poster above you.

My point was something along the lines of "When the student is ready..."

or more cynically:

"in a democracy, the people get the government they deserve...."

8. Just make him a Write-in candidate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Write-in_candidate#President">Write-in candidate

President

* In 1920, Eugene V. Debs, a staunch socialist who had been convicted by the Espionage Act of 1917 for an anti-war speech that he made in Columbus, Ohio in 1918, ran a write-in campaign from his federal prison cell in Atlanta even though his incarceration rendered him ineligible, and received almost a million popular votes out of approximately 26 million cast. This is the most votes a Socialist Party candidate has ever received in US history.

* In 1964, a write-in campaign organized by supporters of former U.S. Senator and vice presidential nominee Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. won Republican primaries for President in New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, defeating declared candidates Barry Goldwater, Nelson Rockefeller, and Margaret Chase Smith.

* In 1992, consumer advocate Ralph Nader ran a write-in campaign for President of the United States in the New Hampshire primary. Declaring himself the "none of the above candidate" and using the Concord Principles as his platform, Nader received 3,054 votes from Democrats and 3,258 votes from Republicans. <1>

But it would be a gamble and I think he wants to keep pursuing global Warming.
That's his true passion. Why would he want to jump off this success train he's
on and risk losing it for more shenanigans from the nefarious RWers ?

11. There are plans to petition for him in NY.
We'd only need 5000 sigs to get him on the ballot - piece of cake.
