This post on this site talking about Ann Coulter, |
|
Suddenly I Feel Much More Warmly Toward Hillary Clinton http://www.tinyrevolution.com/mt/gave me many questions. Why did the History Channel give her space for such terrible writing?http://boards.historychannel.com/thread.jspa?threadID=800007749What happened to the cable stations like The Learning Channel, that use to be about education? What happened to Bravo, that use to be about the theater and the arts? What kind of Coulter statement is this, when only 10% of the country is atheist?Liberals love to boast that they are not “religious,” which is what one would expect to hear from the state-sanctioned religion. Of course liberalism is a religion. It has its own cosmology, its own miracles, its own beliefs in the supernatural, its own churches, its own high priests, its own saints, its own total worldview, and its own explanation of the existence of the universe. In other words, liberalism contains all the attributes of what is generally known as “religion.” I read as far into this tripe and bad writing as I was willing. I bring this up because she has been on television again. One last question. How low can we go?

1. The good channels have been turned into channels that make money. |
|
If the people want "reality" TV shows about homes, motorcycles or cooking, then that's what the basic cable channels will get.
Discovery used to rock. History used to rock. Hell, VH-1 used to be useful (and back in the day, even MTV). But the good science is off to the Science channel (extra $ per month), the good music (any music?) has gone to VH-1 Classic...
Sorry I'm not totally on topic about Coulter, but all of the channels have gone to crap. So even if a kid wants to watch something informative on TV, their parents have to spend enough every month on cable to get the useful channels now.

2. I remember when early cable was trying to be good. |
|
I stopped watching it until 9/11 happened and wanted instant news. I have been very disappointed.
