Actually, I just saw him on The Colbert Report and I thought he was great! Great sense of humor, too!

2. Contrary to the 'woo-woo' epithet, he just seems SANE compared to the others.

Obama seems nearly as sane but Dennis has something more centered. He was visibly, obviously comfortable with the Colbert schtick.

That, of course, is what even I would call "subjective nonsense" and it's actually his positions and demonstrated integrity that compel me to support him. At the same time, it's good to see a mensch.
