Foreign forces accused of abandoning interpreters

<snip>"I feel that the British forces, or British Government, use us like dogs, use our flesh and our meat and throw us, throw our bones to the dogs. It's unfair," he complains.

Abu Mohammad says he is in grave danger and may yet need to turn back to the Australians for help, because the militias he fled in Iraq are also active in Damascus.

Like many of his countrymen, Abu Mohammad initially welcomed the invasion of Iraq, but now this one-time ally is starting to change his mind about the mission that his erstwhile British and Australian comrades have embarked upon.

"What's the benefit from the Coalition forces after four years? They use our money, they use our oil, and leave us without nothing," he said. "I'm asking the world, why?"
