Massachusetts District 5 voters - Get to the polls and vote for Niki Tsongas today

Today is when we HAVE TO elect Niki Tsongas to represent us in Washington. I stopped by the polling place before leaving for work this morning. I also dragged my half-asleep (Dem) roommate with me. So get yourselves down to the polls, drag as many Dems along with you as you can, and vote, dammit! We don't wan't a rethug representing us, do we? The rethugs are counting on low turnout for the special election. I've seen way too many lawn signs for her opponent lately. All of those people with those lawn signs for Ogonowski will make it to the polls and vote. We need to counter that. This is the reddest district in a very blue state.

The last I heard, Ms. Tsongas did not say anything positive about Iran (aka bombing them.) Has that changed?

So I'm fairly certain she's opposed to sending any to Iran.

It is time to have a woman in the MA delegation.

And I've seen a lot of Ogonowski signs in my area. The rethugs are going to get most of their voters out today. So we need to make sure they don't steal this seat away.

Short and simple, high and tight like a Josh Beckett fastball: today's election day. If you're in the 5th District, Niki needs you to get out and vote, and if you're not, remember to vote in your local election.

And if you need any extra motivation, here goes: Niki's Republican opponent has called in right-wing reinforcements in these final 24 hours. None other than ultra-conservative California Congressman Duncan Hunter, who may be stuck in the tuba section of the Republican presidential parade, but who is an icon of the ultra-right: he wants to see Roe v. Wade eviscerated, supports drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, and wants to preemptively bomb Iran with nuclear weapons. Yes, that Duncan Hunter. Any questions?

But, in addition to voting, it's not too late to help Niki's campaign. You can still help by volunteering. You can help get out the vote in the 5th district, or, if you're in the Boston area, you can help at the phone bank my team set up as a volunteer effort for Niki.
