Which Dem Candidates Will Step Up & Condemn The DOJ Political Prosecutions of Edwards' Fundraisers? |
|
It is becoming clear that the DOJ targeted Edwards' fundraisers, and issued search warrants to banks and lenders in order to identify who was contributing to Edwards' Campaign.
This is outrageous, and should be condemned by all Democrats.
And you can bet that the Edwards Campaign was not the only victim of this politicization of the DOJ and its resources.

1. In Michigan, they've indicted Geoffrey Fieger. |
|
Known around the world as Dr. Kevorkian's attorney, Fieger also ran for Governor of Michigan.
Of course, he got near-zero support from the national party. That didn't stop him from wanting to help Edwards, though.

2. Fieger is not a good example of a credible, above board edwards supporter |
|
Edwards is right to distance himself from him. According to the papers here in Michigan, his campaign has been cooperating with the investigation. Fieger forced employees to donate under fear of reprecussions, repaid them with a "bonus" and then lied about it. Its not really the act that has gotten him into hot water, but the coverup.
I know this first hand as I know people who worked for his law firm when it all occurred.
If Edwards gets the nomination, the rethugs will bring up this incident and unfortunately, Fieger doesn't know how to keep his mouth shut, flys off the handle and doesn't think before he speaks. The rethugs know that. The Edwards campaign is going to have to try and sit on him. All I can say is good luck with that...
