All you people clamoring for Al to run.
Yet you all seem to overlook Dennis Kucinich.
Almost point by point, they have the same policies. They both seem to care about the PEOPLE of this country. They both want to change things for the better.
But, there are a couple of things that Dennis has over Al Gore. One, he is a vegetarian. vegetarianism is walking the walk. Beef production is one of the leading causes of global climate change, as is tobacco.
Dennis has never backed down and not fought for what he beleives in...and as much as I love Al Gore, that is exactly the case in 2000 with the elections.
Dennis is in the race. RIGHT NOW, a guy with the same qualities as Al Gore, is running right now.
Do any of the other candidates agree with your principles as much as Gore or Kucinich?

4. Well I'll support Obama because I think he is the next best person. |
|

5. Here would be my principal difference: Gore can actually accomplish things. |

Dennis is great for protest votes, but hasn't ever shown the slightest ability to lead. His record as regards successfully sponsored bills is embarrassingly thin for his time spent in Congress, and he's shown a singular ability to alienate himself from everyone in Congress. He has few allies in Washington, and fewer accomplishments. He's no President.
Gore, on the other hand, has shown an ability to lead, both in government and in private life.
Plus, Gore is actually an extremely moderate Democrat--his record is far closer to HRC, Obama, and Edwards than it is to Kucinich.

I believe Al Gore is the best qualified person for the job and I believe we need the best.

8. I adore Dennis and Al and Obama and Edwards |
|
The others, barring one are OK though too. I think that Kucinich could have a chance if he could get some money and a bit of media attention. My mother loves Dennis and she voted for the wrong side the last time so I figure he has to be getting through to more people than we think he is.

Just my own personal opinion.
I will say without Gore in the race I will probably vote either Dennis or John.
None of the Candidates really light my fire this time around.

12. There is more to a candidate than just being right o the issues, imo |
|
Gore would be high on my list in 08, Dennis toward the bottom.

13. People know corporate media don't cover Kucinich |
|
If a candidate runs, and no one knows who he is -- can he win?
Gore has much more name recognition. That's the only reason I'd be optimistic about a Gore run. He's a great guy, but Kucinich is infinitely better. Unfortunately Gore gets TV time and Kucinich doesn't. TV time is a prerequisite to winning, it seems.

15. Oh I was reading that in the bookstore |
|
Excellent book and excellent points he brings up. I honestly feel like if we didn't have corporate media discrimination and had real journalists who covered the candidates' and their points of view fairly, then Dennis wouldn't be a sure win but would be considered a frontrunner. Most of the people who support Barack Obama or John Edwards have closer to Dennis's point of view but either have no idea who he is or see him as "unelectable," which the lords in the media have branded him.
