1. Wouldn't challenging and defeating some entrenched Republicans be more productive? |
|
Nancy's voting record is fairly solid, whatever you think of her leadership skills. I don't know that she'd be the first Democrat I'd target, but then I'd target Republicans before Democrats.

5. There are Democrats I'd choose over her for speaker, absolutely |
|
Removing her from Congress entirely though? Granted San Francisco will -always- go progressive, but I guess I just think there are a lot of politicians out there more deserving of a boot out of Congress.

I don't have a problem w/ her representing her district, if that's what voters there want.
Its just that she has no place leading the House. Neither her, nor Hoyer nor Emmanuel. They're abject failures and sellouts to the Bush administration.
Why not focus on getting someone to run against Hoyer and Emmanuel? They're much more malignant, much more tenacious at holding on to and abusing power.

8. There isn't a best way. |

For better or worse, this isn't something we have a say in.

10. I think we need to go to our own Dem reps in Congress |
|

and tell them we are disatisfied with the leader they chose and ask them to find someone new who can get the job done. Probably the same needs to be done in the Senate.
We need to let them know that we didn't work hard to get them elected so they could put a failure in place to run the House. Perhaps they will reconsider current leadership (Pelosi, Hoyer, Emmanuel) if they know it could hurt them back in their own districts.
