1. Can you elaborate, robert? |
|
Does Bill Maher really like Edwards and he thinks America is going to come around or what? :)
Or are you being facetious? What?

19. I do think Dennis is the best candidate. I'm in between Dennis and Edwards. |
|
But I think Edwards will win. And I'm afraid Dennis won't. It is a difficult choice.

30. I'm voting Edwards because I think he is the best we CAN GET in office, but I send money to Kucinich |
|
because I think that his message is so important. And I think Dennis raises the level of the debate 100%. If Dennis weren't there, they would all slide 5 degrees to the right, in my opinion. Also, Obama is doing some good things recently.

31. what makes Edwards able to win are his worst qualities. He has a great pro-labor, |
|
anti-corporate stance, but enough "politician" to make it possible for republicans/independents to cross over and vote for him in the general.

nice to be so sure. I have no idea but I sure as heck would love Edwards or Obama..somebody that's real. Not, one of those wind-up corporatemedia puppets who get off on bobbin', weavin' and suckin' conglomerate cash.

24. Maher had a good interview with Edwards of Friday night - worth |
|
trying to catch it as it repeats on HBO.
John Edwards has more charisma than all the other candidates put together.
In addition, he has some good strong left ideas.
I wish his voting record was better.

I loved Bill's remark. "You're in the AUDIENCE (pointing to his ear) which comes from the Latin TO LISTEN". No one got tasered as far as I can see.

After being angry at Maher for a few things he said, I came back to liking the guy, again.
LOL!- I really think he WAS going to kick their ass, if they weren't escorted from the studio. He charged right into the audience.
" Where the fuck is security?" " Hey missy, I'll kick your ass too! Security?- Who's getting there first?"
I've never seen him that angry before.
What a show!

If we're looking at this strategically, John Edwards can win in all those rural conservative states that are normally blood red.
Many repugs I talked to when doorknocking for Kerry/Edwards said if it had been Edwards/Kerry they would have voted for them.

Who is black say it? Can I say it Disturbed?
I don't think a black man or a woman can win it.
I think that 'crap' goes far deeper than most folks at DU would ever like to admit it. For example, at another message board - non-political in nature but with a political board - there's a woman in Texas who described the ENTIRE Jena Six as a Modern Day Lynch Mob. Her words - not mine. She also was describing the black folks in New Orleans less than 'human' during the aftermath of Hurricaine Katrina. This SAME woman has said, "We don't need her PMS in office'. She's speaking about HRC.
Now truth be told - she won't vote Democratic under any circumstances - she's one of the 'American Androids' who eats their McDonalds, watch American Idol, never leaves her couch and tunes out. A Dweeby Monzweebie if you will . . .
But I think she's the average 'Republican'. I'm at DU so I can generalize like that.
Now the middle of the road folks - I think JRE can pull them out of their lull, get them off the processed food and Faux News for five minutes to hear what he has to say.
I guess it's "Shame on you Jen!" But I really, really, really, want 60 Democrats in the Senate in and a Democrat in office in 2008.
Oh - I also want Pete Stark to be Speaker of the House - but I'll settle for the first two.

what bothered me was the Taping of the interview between Edwards and Mahr. the edits were good but not flawless. it really disapointed me to be fed "live" footage of Edwards. only to realize it wasnt live at all. with edits and no real tough questions.

He supported Nader in 2000. In 2004, he said "I mean, like a Kerry/Edwards ticket, that's a very strong ticket that would make Karl Rove a little nervous." Wrong.

An Al Gore endorsement of Edwards might do the trick!
In my view, JE has the BEST chance of beating rethugs N to S and E to W - all over the country.

Aside from Kucinich, Edwards has the best plans to address our major issues. I think he would truly set this country on a new path that stresses diplomacy with strength and a realistic look at our class and infrastructure problems. He has truly grown on me but that's probably the kiss of death, given the fact that I was in Wes Clark's corner last time around. My main concern is that his campaign has not generated any major traction so far.
