What is the maximum age for commissioning in the military? |
|
Not sure where this question goes, but I know someone knows the answer.
I think it is 37 to commission and 42 to enlist...?

2. It USED to be "have not reached the 35th birthday" in order to complete |

twenty years of active service by age 55. I don't know if they've changed that. That was for first-time joiners, not prior service personnel.
If you had prior enlisted service, you could adjust the commissioning age upward. For example, ten years enlisted, you could get commissioned just before your 45th birthday.
Chaplains and doctors, they're excepted.
Don't know if they've modulated the Guard/Reserve limits. I'm guessing they have. I know they raised the enlistment age upward.
