Just finished the Race For the Cure in honor of Stacey (Mrs. OMC)
I made it through all five kilometers this morning in Dallas - it was the 25th anniversary of Race For the Cure, and I'm proud to have played a part in it.

This one's for you, Stacey... :loveya:

3. Thanks! Next year, I'm gonna do it for ovarian cancer survivors...
...of which my wife is one, having survived it for over 20 years.

And she was stage IV with only a 10% chance of survival, too.

10. Sounds like your wife is free and clear. Congrats on the run. I'm sure it will mean
alot to stacey's husband.

11. Not exactly "free and clear," I'm afraid...
She's developed some new problems, but I won't go into that here. Needless to say, I'll run the "Walk For the Whisper" next year in honor of ginbarn.

I'll post photos of my race outfit soon - my laptop's USB ports are shot, but I'll find a way to upload them soon.

Unfortunately, yours truly took a bunch of dead batteries with him to the race, so no pics at the race site itself. At least, not from me - but I'll see what I can do.

4. Bless you for doing that, Derby.
Would like to think that Stacey is smiling down on you, pleased and proud of what you have done for her.

Peace and health to you, and if OMC's reading, may his day be better knowing what you have done. Oh, and congrats on completing the 5K. A great accomplishment, indeed!

6. Thanks! And if OMC wants it...
Edited on Sat Oct-20-07 12:26 PM by derby378
...I'll mail him the "I'm Racing In Memory Of Stacey" sign that I wore during the 5K. That way, he and his family can keep the sign as a memento.

And thank you for the kind words.

12. Thank You Derby.
This was very thoughtful of you and I really appreciate your having put in the effort to take part in the event. It really means a lot to me that there are people like you out there who carry on this cause and devote their time or energy to it. Thank you so much for honoring her in such a way, and also for contributing to such a worthy cause.
