I was never politcal like this .
i knew what was going on , did not have my head in the sand .

Now I wonder why I can't get away from politics and liberal radio other than the fact that I feel connected to others .

The way I look at things today with this murderous admin and their enablers and the economy falling away and then add in global warming I just don't see how even with best intent people can afford a new fuel efficient car or anything else other than scrap by with the bare necessity .

There is not healthcare for many and those who have it the cost is a wall of brick .

We have a dumbed down generation and alot of racial issues and this insane politically correct none sense .

Religion has filtered down into everything as if this is the only way one can have moral values instilled .

We have a house that won't listen the the people and a so called preident bent on destruction , whether lifes or land or cities and the constitution .

I really wonder if there is ever a way to get back into sanity and control considering the corportist take over who has all the money and control . We are no longer free , we are slaves in waiting or slaves in product .

1. I'm with you, and it's why I'm here.
I believe we are witnessing history, a very sad and dark chapter. I want, I need to be informed, so when future generations ask how this happened, I can tell them.

2. Exactly -- and we're hardly alone. We're seeing a rebirth of liberal America
And not a second too soon.

3. I had never worked on a campaign before 2004
Now I am involved in the local Democratic organization and plugged in all the time.
I am acutely aware of all the issues and all the players.
Like you I knew what was going on and paid attention to the issues, just didn't get involved. In 92 I supported Clinton wore a campaign button and had a bumper sticker.

9. It is wonderful to see
that that is the case with many of us here.

I thought I knew what was going on. I raised children who knew more about current events and politics than most of their peers. They had teachers who complimented me on their knowledge.

I was involved when I was in college. I was involved in my late twenties, right after Watergate. One of the local Democrats recruited me. Then I moved away and raised a family.

My involvement now is so much stronger. I have committed my family and some friends, even though they live in different parts of the state.

At first, I think some of my friends and family members responded to my requests for time and involvement out of love. They saw my sense of urgency and wanted to do something nice for me. As they learned more, they saw how dire the situation is for our country, and they have stayed involved, tailoring their involvement to their own situations.

Do you see what is wrong with me? I only kept up my commitment when our country was in crisis: Vietnam, Watergate, Bushco. Maybe if I had not been a sunshine patriot and summer soldier, this country would be a better place. Of course, I don't mean just me as an individual. I include in the criticism others like me who sat back, thinking our work was done.

4. I was never this involved in politics before either.
Like you, I always paid enogh attention to know what was going on, but I didn't watch cspan all the time and constantly hunt for liberal radio. NOW, I watch all the hearings on cspan3, stream liberal radio almost 24 hours a day, and find every conversation I have with ANYBODY sooner or later results in talking about politics!

I blamed it on getting older and paying more attention, but I'm not sure that's true! I'm 64 and I don't ever recall having a COMPLETE DISTRUST of all my elected officials, feeling so used and abused by the corporations who try to screw everyone they can, worrying about how we can survive without water, and being afraid to complain about the US Prez to my son because he's in Italy and my call is probably being monitored!

Damn it! I've always been an optomist, and what's happening to me now really pisses me off!

5. There is a way...
...and it's called 'citizen involvement'. The people have to be awake...like you are. :)

6. If someone had told me years ago what
would happen I probably would not have believed it. But having witnessed the bedrock of our nation crumble I can now expect anything bad to happen. I am expecting my 6th grandchild in the next year; just had my 4th great-grandchild and will worry about them until the day I die. But I may be reincarnated as BushCo's greatest enemy. I will look forward to that.

7. i think what alot of it is about
is that power from the masses comes from us collectivly. Since we are born now into a society that tends to make us form cocoons in our homes interacting only with family and work buddies i think that is what helps in making the people weak as a voting block. Since we have lost our sense of community we have lost a connection to our fellow man. We must regain a collective connection in order to become a force again.
