3. I also have a dismal view of the economy. |

That being said, I work in the mortgage industry and Wall Street has pee'd in the pool. 2/3 of GDP has been driven by the consumer, I've got news for you... The consumer is tapped-out. Home values are declining, credit card issuers are increasing rates and closing lines. And yet the yacht brokers and Tiffany stores are seeing record profits. I guess we'll just have to adopt the alley-cat posture to sit and wait for our trickle-down table scraps. I'm sure that Bushco feels we'll continue to push the economy forward as long as we have the priviledge to park cars for the uber-rich.

There are multiple reasons for it too. Firstly, the repukes know they royally screwed up the last 2 presidential terms with bad policies, wars, homeland pork security, and so on. So what do you do when you've overly raided the piggy bank for the next 10-20 years and the Democratic party is gaining momentum as was evidenced by the 2006 elections? You make sure that the next president being a democrat will have a big job in undoing the mess you've created so you lay out more landmines set to go off about the time when the new president is set to take office. Another war is a possible one they are working on now, but the bottom line is what will kill them the most. How do you address some of that bottom line and keep your corporate buddies happy too? Have the price of oil go way up is how. This keeps his buddies happy as they make really big profits beyond what they previously did when they gouged us around the time of katrina hitting NO. So you wonder how that has to do with a landmine to the next dem president. That president has to undo the damage caused by the inflationary actions that high oil prices started. High oil translates into everything that goes by the road higher in cost and the wages of most people will not catch up. Nobody will be able to act upon it until that new president is elected and it will be at its worst for the new president. This is also a quick easy way to start lowering the debt by having everything inflated. As it is if the government spends $1 today and inflation gets real bad that say in 2-3 years everything is doubled in price. The dollar's value is now cut in half, but that also makes the costs in the past cut in half because at the future inflated time the government automatically rakes in more as the taxes have a built in escalation. Now they have $2 to pay that $1 and they get another $1 to play with. You see the trend and I don't believe it to be good economic policy, but hey that's repukes for ya. The toughest times will fall upon our candidate that takes the oval office in a monetary respect among so many other tasks to be performed. The pukes have wrecked this country deliberately and decisively and they hope to place the blame to the Democratic party for their financial abuses. I do admit that some Democrats do need to answer for some votes in aiding the republicon causes.
