bush is to the world a true living, breathing monster ... |
|
just like those saturday morning tv cartoon monsters of years ago who terrorized people out in japan, or even here in the united states.
in inflicting so much death, in carrying so much blood in his hands, in his constant seeding of terror, terror, terror ... to the point that almost no one can breathe anything but terror, terror, terro ... or at least hear it constantly on the television ... in playing the terror card, bush has become america's living, breathing, monster to us and to the rest of the world!

1. If our laws don't catch up with the bushes |
|
several countries have laws on the books against torture. Germany and France have those quaint European laws against torture but they apply only if the country the torturer resides in does not prosecute and hold the criminal accountable. So if Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield and Gonzales are not prosecuted in this country for torture, they will be hunted men outside the US. I wonder if the SS will protect bush from arrest?
There are many crimes these idiots have committed. But when they ordered the torture of prisoners and it became public they crossed over a line that is very, very clear no matter how they try to spin it. Just like Chile's Pinochet, they are evil.

4. there was a post here on DU yesterday, referring to the fact that |
|
while in France Donaldo Rum-SS-Fell was charged with (or as a war criminal for) ordering the torture of "terror prisoners" in bush's gulags.

At least I don't think so. He's just a lousy human being with way too much power. I don't subscribe to the monster pov. I'm with Hannah Arendt on the banality of evil.

5. lousy human beings have a way of becoming MONSTERS ... |
|
He is a monster to anyone whose toes he stands on ... and, as I see it, he is standing on far too many toes here, in iraq, and around the world... and to me what makes him even more monster like, if that is at all possible, is the fact that he has, so far, been unstoppable. Be that as it may, i do have to say, i like hannah arendt's writings, though i have not gone back to read them in a long, long time.

6. I think removing people from the sphere of humanity |
|
and the very human and awful things that we as humans too frequently do, is an abdication from dealing with human malfeasance.

7. do you mean that killing people, torturing them, and otherwise engaging in "cruel and unjust punish- |
|
ment" results in an "abdication from dealing with human malfeasance." because we are not applying lawful means to correct problems with criminal behavior? I think I am lost somewhere. If you can clear up my confused head, i'll appreciate it. (though right now i have to run out as my husband is calling and we have to "fetch" our groceries).
